The aspiring Tigerman recognizes the
value of his personal networks; both on a social
and professional level.
Your human network used to be known as a “bunch of friends”. These
friends often introduced you to others who you became friends with, supported
your personal activities or even fixed you up on dates.
In the past, these groups of friends were people in your neighborhood or those
you went to school with. Today, the growth of the telecommunications
infrastructure, the world wide web and it's voice / video capabilities has
enabled these groups of friends to easily become international.
Today, it is just as easy to chat with and see a person halfway around the world
as it is to spend time with the next door neighbor. You should become
familiar with these
social networking resources.
When your network is primarily focused on your workplace and its internal or
external customers it is commonly referred to as your
professional network.
Both your networks are mutually
beneficial. Actively building and working with your networks extends the
concept of teamwork beyond your immediate friends and family; helping you find
new relationships, find new customers, find new jobs and / or help you learn new
things.
